Description Collagen-stimulating injectables gradually restore volume and improve skin firmness by encouraging your body’s natural collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid production. Procedure Details Injected into the deeper layers of the skin. Usually performed as a series of treatments. Expected Result Time Gradual improvement over 3 - 6 months. Results continue to develop for several months. Downtime Depending on the treatment, mild swelling or bruising is possible. Expect mild discomfort after this procedure. Bruising and swelling can last for up to two weeks. Pre and aftercare instructions Avoid medications that thin the blood and increase the chance of bruising for 24 hours prior to your appointment as well as 24 hours after your treatment, unless prescribed by a medical professional. Avoid exercise for 24 hours prior to and after your treatment. Asymmetry of the face is expected directly after some procedures due to numbing and this should subside over time. Patients receiving Sculptra® patients MUST massage the injected area 5 times a day for 5 minutes for 5 days after their treatment to optimise outcome of the treatment. Ice can be used to minimise swelling as well as the use of anti-inflammatories to prevent discomfort. It is best to space other skincare treatments that involve active ingredients two weeks apart from this procedure. Please avoid dental procedures for two weeks prior to and after this treatment.
